Congo Energy & Investment Forum to Showcase Republic of Congo's Energy Opportunities

Congo Energy & Investment Forum to Showcase Republic of Congo's Energy Opportunities

The Republic of Congo will host the first-ever Congo Energy & Investment Forum (CEIF) on 24-26 March 2025, connecting project developers with Congolese regulators and policymakers. Under the patronage of President Denis Sassou Nguesso and supported by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, this platform enables candid dialogue, facilitating new investments and deals in the country’s energy sector.

Unveiling of Congo’s New Gas Master Plan

One of the highlights of CEIF 2025 will be the official unveiling of Congo’s new Gas Master Plan. This comprehensive strategy aims to consolidate the country’s existing gas assets while attracting new investments into the sector.

The plan lays out a clear roadmap to tap into Congo’s vast untapped gas resources and position the country as a regional gas leader. By diversifying its economy with a focus on gas, Congo will be able to attract regional and international players in the energy market, creating new economic opportunities and bolstering the country’s energy infrastructure.

A New Oil and Gas Licensing Round

As part of its ambition to double oil production to 500,000 barrels per day by 2027, CEIF 2025 will feature a new oil and gas licensing round. This licensing round will offer onshore, offshore and marginal acreage to potential investors and developers.

The licensing round is designed to attract IOCs with the technical expertise and financial capacity to explore deepwater resources, as well as local and independent companies interested in exploiting marginal fields. This initiative will solidify Congo’s position as one of Africa’s top oil producers and create significant investment opportunities in the sector.

Establishment of a National Gas Company

In a major strategic move, the Congolese government is set to establish a national gas company, positioning the country for long-term success in the energy sector. This new entity will consolidate existing exploration and production companies to create a more attractive environment for fresh capital and technical expertise.

The national gas company will also foster synergies within the sector, streamlining operations and improving the competitiveness of the local energy market. This move reflects Congo’s commitment to developing its energy resources more efficiently, with the aim of becoming a major player in the global energy landscape.

In-Depth Panels and Workshops on Energy Innovation

CEIF 2025 will feature a variety of dedicated panel sessions, technical workshops and presentations designed to provide deep insights into the latest developments and opportunities across the entire energy value chain. These sessions will cover a range of topics, including oil, gas, renewable energy and infrastructure advancements.

Attendees will gain valuable knowledge about ongoing and upcoming projects that contribute to Congo’s energy goals, as well as broader trends in affecting the sector. These sessions will allow participants to explore new technologies, market trends and policy frameworks shaping the future of Congo’s energy industry.

Key Networking Opportunities with Industry Leaders

CEIF 2025 offers a platform for delegates to connect with top energy executives, investors and policymakers. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with major international oil companies (IOCs), independent operators, government officials and financiers, creating opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations.

Deal signings will be a focal point of the forum, providing an environment where key decision-makers can engage to forge new business relationships. This network-building opportunity will help attendees expand their professional circles and open doors to potential investments and projects across the energy sector.

The inaugural Congo Energy & Investment Forum, set for March 24-26, 2025, in Brazzaville, under the patronage of President Denis Sassou Nguesso and supported by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, will bring together international investors and local stakeholders to explore national and regional energy and infrastructure opportunities. The event will explore the latest gas-to-power projects and provide updates on ongoing expansions across the country.
