Congo, Venezuela Deepen Hydrocarbons Cooperation, Eye JV Opportunities
The Republic of Congo and Venezuela have announced plans to deepen their cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector, including exploring joint venture opportunities between Congolese and Venezuelan companies.

In a meeting on February 13 between Congo’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, and Venezuela’s Ambassador to Congo, Laura Evangelia Suarez, the countries discussed capacity-building initiatives and fostering partnerships in the oil and gas industry.

This partnership builds on the first session of the Joint Commission, held in Caracas in 2023, which revitalized Congo-Venezuela relations. During that session, both countries signed 13 agreements, a letter of intent and two memorandums of understanding, covering hydrocarbons, air transport, tourism, agriculture, mining and education.
