The
Republic of Congo and Venezuela
have announced plans to deepen their cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector, including exploring joint venture opportunities between Congolese and Venezuelan companies.
In a meeting on February 13 between Congo’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, and Venezuela’s Ambassador to Congo, Laura Evangelia Suarez, the countries discussed capacity-building initiatives and fostering partnerships in the oil and gas industry.
This partnership builds on the first session of the Joint Commission, held in Caracas in 2023, which revitalized Congo-Venezuela relations. During that session, both countries signed 13 agreements, a letter of intent and two memorandums of understanding, covering hydrocarbons, air transport, tourism, agriculture, mining and education.
