The Republic of Congo’s Technical Committee on Public-Private Partnerships assessed several strategic infrastructure and investment projects in a meeting in Brazzaville on February 24.
The meeting brought together key government officials, including ministers responsible for International Cooperation and Public-Private Partnerships; Special Economic Zones; Land Affairs and Planning; Energy; and the Interior.
Projects under review included the concession of the Mourala and Nyanga hydroelectric dams, the reinstatement of the concession contract for the oil and gas pipeline connecting Pointe-Noire to Maloukou, and a road safety initiative. The committee also evaluated proposals to ensure year-round navigability of the Congo River, rehabilitate the national shipyard and develop the Dolisie dry port.
The session focused on advancing economic growth through modern, efficient infrastructure while ensuring the financial viability of these projects and aligning them with national sustainability goals.
