Republic of Congo, Chinese Ministers Commit to Strengthening Clean Energy Cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently concluded a key visit to the Republic of the Congo, where he met with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso to strengthen bilateral ties and advance cooperation in renewable energy.

The discussions underscored a shared commitment to addressing climate change and fostering sustainable development. Minister Wang emphasized China's support for Congo's efforts to preserve its forest and water resources, while also advocating for a high-level China-Congo community with a shared future.

Highlighting China's broader vision for Africa's green energy transition, Minister Wang stated, "We will work with African countries to implement clean energy projects launched at the Beijing summit and build an 'Africa Solar Belt' to help Africa embark on the path of green and low-carbon development."

The visit also reaffirmed mutual priorities of sovereignty, security and sustainable development, as well as a commitment to deepening China-Africa cooperation.
