Congo, Ivory Coast Sign 5 Agricultural Agreements

The Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast have signed five new agreements focused on advancing the agricultural sector.

The deals were formalized on November 5 in Brazzaville, Congo, and are expected to boost agricultural productivity, enhance research and support rural development initiatives.

The agreements were signed by Ivory Coast’s National Agency for Support to Rural Development along with the Brazzaville Chamber of Commerce, the National Union of Economic Operators, the Directorate of Economic Diversification, the National Institute of Agronomic Research and non-government organization Eden.

Beyond agriculture, the Congo and Ivory Coast also discussed cooperation in other sectors, including tourism, industry, mining and hydrocarbons.

Trade between the Congo and Ivory Coast has surged, increasing from approximately $19.4 million in 2023 to roughly $67.9 million in 2024.
