Rene Awambeng is the Founder and Managing Partner of Premier Invest, bringing over twenty-five years of senior management experience in corporate and investment banking across diverse global markets, including Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. His career is marked by a deep commitment to driving corporate success, having generated over US$8 billion in revenues and managed US$300 billion in transactions across the energy, infrastructure, commodities, and financial advisory sectors.

Recognized as a leading expert on Africa's banking, trade, and financial services landscapes, Rene has built an extensive network that includes government officials, C-suite executives, and industry leaders. His tenure as Director & Global Head of Client Relations at the African Export-Import Bank (2016-2023) showcased his expertise in structured trade, corporate, and investment banking, as well as his proficiency in product management, cross-border trade flows, and compliance.

Beyond his corporate accomplishments, Rene is dedicated to social impact through the Awambeng Renal Care Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides vital support for kidney disease patients. He also actively serves on the boards of the African Sepsis Alliance and the Africa Energy Chamber. In addition, he presides over the SME Trade & Business Commonwealth Entrepreneurs Club, which furthers his passion for enhancing intra-African trade and infrastructure development.

A frequent advisor on banking and trade finance trends, Rene is often invited to speak at international conferences, sharing insights from his illustrious career.
